There are a handful of stars making waves in country music. These haven’t even seen their 25th birthday yet, but their presence in the genre is undeniable.
Kelsea Ballerini and Kane Brown return for this year’s Hottest Artists Under 25 list (both were featured on our list in 2016), proving that their careers only continue to rise as they reach for the top of the charts while captivating fans worldwide. You’ll also see newbies Temecula Road, a promising trio who are still in their teens, but who have voices that pack a serious punch. The Voice diva RaeLynn also appears — her successful debut album and authentic lyrics make her a shoo-in for such a designation.
Lady Antebellum launch their You Look Good World Tour with Kelsea Ballerini and Brett Young on May 26th in Bakersfield, California, and the musically like-minded artists have already been tossing around song ideas to cover together onstage.
The Orlando Magic received the sixth pick in the NBA Draft Lottery on Tuesday night.
Most experts predict University of Washington point guard Markelle Fultz, UCLA point guard Lonzo Ball, Kansas small forward Josh Jackson, Duke small forward Jayson Tatum and probably Kentucky point De’Aaron Fox already will be chosen before the Magic make their first selection.
In that scenario, the Magic could choose between North Carolina State point guard Dennis Smith Jr., Kentucky shooting guard Malik Monk and several others.
Matt Lloyd, the Magic’s interim general manager, said the team likely will consider a “hefty” number of players at No. 6.
Axel — who earned his moniker from Owen’s daughter Pearl, 4 — was just 3 months old when the country singer adopted him, and is fitting into the family (which also includes 6-year-old bulldog Merle) nicely, earning a starring role on Owen’s Instagram account with sweet snapshots and funny videos of him attacking doorstops.
Ryan Seacrest sounds like he's game for round two of "American Idol."
TMZ broke the story..."Idol" is coming back in March, 2018 on ABC. We got Ryan and GF Shayna in NYC Saturday night and he certainly didn't shut down the possibility of hosting the show again.
As we reported ... the new gig has almost super-human strings attached, requiring him tofly coast to coast twice in two days in the middle of the night each week to pull it off. Ryan seems to think he's up to the task... with an L.A. Fitness membership.
BTW... we got him going in to Le Bernardin restaurant in NYC. It's super expensive, so we're guessing he's banking on "A.I." money to pay the check.
Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Little Big Town, Vince Gill, and now Lady Antebellum all have sang the National Anthem thus far, for the Nashville Predators playoff game, as they keep winning and advancing to the next round. The question is, if they play Edmonton in the semifinal, what country star will sing "Oh Canada"... Shania???
The Orlando Solar Bears will be purchased by the Orlando Magic franchise, which is owned by the DeVos family, the team announced Wednesday.
The Solar Bears were going to fold, but the Magic jumped in and purchased the hockey franchise.
"We are thrilled to purchase the Solar Bears, giving the team the opportunity to continue to play in Orlando," Orlando Magic CEO Alex Martins said. "The Solar Bears' fan base has been outstanding and we look forward to an exciting future."
The team will play at the Amway Center for the 2017-18 season.
Each year at the Kentucky Derby, the Barnstable Brown Derby Eve Gala brings A-list celebrities together under one roof for a night of live music and celebration. The guest list is always a who’s who in music, film, television and sports, and this year promises to be no different.

"American Idol" has only been off the air a year, but seems it's still the hottest property out there, because we've learned ABC has now made an offer to buy the show.
Sources at ABC and Fremantle -- the company that produces the show -- tell TMZ the network contacted Fremantle last week and made the bid. We're told the network wanted to reboot the show for a March 2018 premiere.
We're also told ABC inquired about making Ryan Seacrest the host, but even last week the network knew it was on the verge of signing Ryan as co-host of 'Live' with Kelly Ripa. As a result, we're told ABC asked if the show could be shot in New York, which is now Ryan's home base. Our sources say Fremantle made it clear ... NYC was a no-go. The show will be shot in L.A.
So far, the Nashville Predators have taken the crown, when it comes to famous people singing the National Anthem during the playoffs this season. They've had Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, Little Big Town, and now Vince Gill and his daughters. It may be bringing the Predators good luck, because they've been undefeated at home during the playoffs thus far. Check out the video below.
Country music is full of amateur athletes who dreamed of playing in the NFL, MLB or NHL, but very few actually found success on and off the field. Here are 12 who gave up a professional athlete’s paycheck for the dream of making country music.
One or two of them you’ll know better for their music careers, but the majority were stars on the field, course or ice. You won’t find college football studs Lee Brice or Chase Rice, nor will you find Major League Baseball prospect Brett Young. Track star Garth Brooks doesn’t make this list, either (even if photos of him throwing the javelin are the best thing ever).
Quarterback Sam Hunt and college golfer Kip Moore don’t count either, as neither were paid professionally for their services. This list focuses on athletes who went pro. Included are champion golfers, a Super Bowl MVP, several Pro-Bowlers and one professional wrestler. One hockey player even makes the cut, but in all our research, we couldn’t find an NBA star with serious country cred!
Fashion retailer Nordstrom is selling a pair of $425 jeans that allegedly show "you're not afraid to get down and dirty."
The "Barracuda Straight Leg Jeans," which come with a "caked-on muddy coating," have been roundly mocked on social media, with Mike Rowe remarking that the jeans are intended to make someone appear like they have a dirty job when they do not.
Ouch. Lee Brice got his hand bit by Brett Youngs dog. However, Brett Young warned Lee about the dog, saying that he bites. Check out what Lee Brice wrote on FB "He said "he bites". I just couldn't help my self. 😉 No little tiny dog is gonna out tough me... but don't try this at home cuz Brett Young's dog does bites deep."
Ten years ago, Kelsea Ballerini was just one more country-loving teen edging her way into meet and greet lines at CMA Fest, Nashville’s annual country music fan party. “Me and my mom and a couple of friends would save up and plan for CMA Fest all year. We had schedules — we had fanny packs! We were very serious,” the singer tells PEOPLE. “My first time was when I was 13, and I have pictures of me buddying up next to Lady A, sweating because I was so nervous to meet them.”
Now, the 23-year-old “Yeah Boy” singer has three chart-topping hits of her own and will be co-hosting the whole shin-dig with Thomas Rhett, who returns for a second year to helm the CMA Fest television special. “It’s definitely a full-circle moment,” she says.

He was subsequently tranported to UMASS Leominster hospital where he was pronounced dead at 4:07 a.m. EST by a hospital doctor.

Massachusetts State Police are currently investigating the scene, the MDOC said.

Sam Hunt and Hannah Lee Fowler celebrated their wedding at what looks like a pretty awesome venue in Georgia.
Sam and Hannah had the reception at a place called In the Woods in Rockmart, GA. It's one stop shopping for folks who get hitched, but they didn't get married there. The nuptials went down in nearby Cedartown at a Methodist church.
We're told just shy of 150 folks attended the wedding and reception, with no celebs to speak of.

Carrie Underwood painted her toe nails and finger nails blue and gold to show support for her husband Mike Fishers Nashville Predators hockey team in the playoffs. It seems to have worked thus far, because the Nashville Predators won their playoff game in Chicago last night 1-0.

The production has been on the warpath to find the right actor for the role for months, with Michael Shannon almost nabbing the role and Stranger Things star David Harbour on the shortlist. (There were even rumors of conversations with Russell Crowe and Brad Pitt.)
In the end, Brolin emerged as a surprise contender, notching his second Marvel Comics character in the process; the actor plays the villain Thanos in the Marvel Studios movies. Sources say Brolin's deal is for four films.

"We're on God's good timing or whatever you might call it," she said on Tuesday. "I'm just trying to figure out where life's going to take me next."
Underwood said that Isaiah hasn't been asking for a little brother or sister quite yet. "As a matter of fact," she added, "if a dog climbs up on my lap, I feel like he gets a little jealous of the dog!"
With one of the most celebrated careers in the history of country music, Alan Jackson is often asked if he still has anything left to accomplish. Until now, he hasn’t dared to speak his heart’s desire.
“I never say the Country Music Hall of Fame because I just felt like that was kind of pretentious, you know, to think that I deserve to be in there,” he said, standing in the Hall of Fame Rotunda in Nashville. “I never say that. But now I can say this is about the last dream on the list right here.”
He could say it because, on Wednesday, that “last dream” finally came true when the Country Music Association announced Jackson is among the 2017 class of Hall of Fame inductees. The 58-year-old Georgia native joins the late guitar slinger Jerry Reed, who will be inducted as the “veterans-era artist,” and “The Gambler” songwriter Don Schlitz, who is being honored in the category dedicated to non-performers.
Fresh off his fifth year as co-host of the annual ACM Awards, Luke Bryan has made country music history.
Bryan's latest single "Fast" reached the top of Billboard's Country Airplay chart, making him the only artist in the chart's 27-year existence to score six Number Ones from one album. That album is Bryan's fifth full-length, Kill the Lights, which also contains chart-toppers "Kick the Dust Up," "Strip It Down," the Karen Fairchild duet "Home Alone Tonight," "Huntin', Fishin', and Lovin' Everyday" and "Move."
It's already been one helluva year for awards shows. From Adele's Album of the Year upset at the Grammys to the Moonlight/La La Land snafu at the Oscars, 2017's prize parties have dominated the cultural conversation with meme-worthy moments that serve well to distract from, well, everything else that's going on in the world.
Pretty boring number, right? Not if you’re a math and science enthusiast. If you’re into numbers, it’s pi, an irrational and transcendental number with more than a trillion digits after its decimal point. But when you round it off to just two numbers after its decimal point, it’s 3.14 — or March 14 — which just so happens to be Albert Einstein’s birthday.
In addition to her own songs, RaeLynn has regularly treated fans at her shows to covers of pop hits like Meghan Trainor's "All About That Bass" for a dash of the familiar and a shot of dance-friendly energy. Following her set, RaeLynn will rejoin fans in the venue as a DJ transforms the space into a dance party. The trek wraps up with a May 24th show at Nashville's own Mercy Lounge. Tickets go on sale March 8th.

The following story is so sensational, so "nooo way!" that I sat on it for a few hours after first seeing photos and "tweets" about it on Weibo (aka China's version of Twitter): the factory that made batteries for the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 caught fire.
Keith Urban just needs a guitar and his voice to perform. That was Keith Urban's mentality during this morning's appearance on NBC's Today show. During an hour-long stint as the series' co-host, Urban allowed Al Roker and Sheinelle Jones to talk him into a solo performance of "Blue Ain't Your Color."
When I was younger, there were times I played hockey on the frozen pond outside with my friends. But NEVER in minus 26 degree weather. Dierks Bentley may have proved to enjoy hockey more than me... and I've played my whole life. MurphDawg
