Cam teaches a TedxTalk

Cam took a quick break from writing and singing to give a TedxTalk on something she knows well: music.

The "Burning House" singer, who earned a psychology degree in college, discussed the impact of music to a group of people at the University of Nevada.

"Only lasted about 11 minutes... but I was more terrified than I've ever been in my life," Cam wrote on her Facebook page. "To share knowledge publicly - means I had to first believe that I have knowledge worth sharing (and questioning myself is pretty much my superpower)."

Although Cam is a successful singer-songwriter, she expressed in that same social media post that she had difficulty writing a speech.

"It's not new information, but it's just often forgotten that music is an essential part of our humanity. I couldn't let people miss out on that understanding," she wrote.

Cam is currently on tour in the United Kingdom and Ireland. She's also an opener for George Strait's Las Vegas residency.

More details on Sam Hunt's engagement

For as private and secretive as Sam Hunt once was about his personal life, he's surely revealing a lot of information on his love life and vacation trips! In a recent interview with Bobby Bones, the "House Party" singer opened up about traveling, his fiancee and new music.

The singer, who recently released "Body Like a Back Road", said he's stayed busy with vacationing to Hawaii, Israel and more. While on a religious-inspired trip to Israel, he was carrying a ring in his pocket, preparing to propose to now-fiancee Hannah Lee Fowler. He got on one knee and popped the question at the Sea of Galilee, saying "If I blinked really hard, a tear might have fallen out."

A new tune from T.Rhett

New year, new music!

Thomas Rhett closed out 2016 with a performance in NYC, and the country star is starting 2017 with a new video.

The "Die A Happy Man" singer released the video for his song "American Spirit" which comes from his Tangled Up Deluxe album. The patriotic video captures images of what country music is all about: picture-perfect landscapes, small southern towns, family and laughter to say a few. His stunning other half, Lauren, makes an appearance too.

T. Rhett will begin his first-headlining tour this year, 2017 HOME TEAM TOUR. "This is really the first time we’ve been able to totally build our own stage and really plan for our show with all our fans," said Thomas Rhett on his website. "There has been this undeniable energy out on the road this year, and I know having Kelsea out there is going to amp things up even more."

Kelsea Ballerini and up-and-comers Russell Dickerson and Ryan Hurd will join him on tour.

"Having my own tour also gives me the opportunity to introduce some people I think are going to explode in the next couple of years and help give them a platform to reach the fans, like how Blake, Toby and Jason did for me," T. Rhett said. "I’m a huge fan of both Ryan and Russell and I can’t wait for my fans to get to know them too."

Country artists to watch in 2017: Maren Morris and Jon Pardi

Maren Morris and Jon Pardi are already surfacing fame but are about to explode into music stardom in 2017.

There's constantly new faces and new voices in the music business. These two artists are familiar and somewhat well-known to country fans but have really stepped up their game.

To the public, it seemed like Maren Morris appeared overnight. The 26-year-old gave songwriting a try after fellow Texas native, Kacey Musgraves, suggested it. Though she writes her own songs, she has written for artists like Tim McGraw and Kelly Clarkson too. All within this year, the singer-songwriter has received CMA New Artist of the Year, Billboard Breakthrough Artist and four Grammy nominations. She brings a fresh, unique voice to traditional country lyrics and sounds.

Her Hero headlining tour starts in 2017.

As for Jon Pardi, he is not new to the public yet he is often overlooked. His California Sunrise album captures a multitude of emotions while keeping it completely country. The album positively excludes any pop or rap sound. While Pardi was lacking in award nominations this past year, Rolling Stone named his latest album as one of country's best 40 albums this year.

The "Dirt On My Boots" singer will be on tour with Dierks Bentley and Cole Swindell in 2017.

Kelsea Ballerini and Kacey Musgraves are rocking rings

Two country stars were feeling the love this holiday season.

Both Kacey Musgraves and Kelsea Ballerini are off the market. Both of their boyfriends, Ruston Kelly and Morgan Evans respectively, popped the question.

When you know, you know ... she's perfect. #ultimatedibs

Kelsea has been dating her Aussie-singer boyfriend for just over 9 months. The two country-crooners met back in March when they co-hosted an awards show together. Evans announced the happy news on Instagram, writing "when you know, you know ... she's perfect. #ultimatedibs" He got down on one knee in the kitchen while the "Dibs" singer was burning pancakes.

As for Kacey, her beau Ruston Kelley proposed in her childhood bedroom with some help from Kacey's sister and brother-in-law.

The "Follow Your Arrow" singer shared the proposal story on Instagram.

"We had just been at my parent's house randomly having a night of watching bittersweet old home tapes of all these beautiful family memories that were made in this little, old country house I grew up in that I now have. We came back to that house afterwards and he had somehow pulled off having my sister + brother in-law sneak off and completely decorate my childhood bedroom in the most nostalgic and perfect Christmas decorations," she wrote.

"I was bewildered and confused when I saw it all and turned around and the song "Two For The Road" by Henry Mancini started playing (this song is so emotional and sweet..it's one of my favorites..you have to go listen) and he was on his knee with a baby pink velvet ring box and the sparkliest thing I've ever seen! πŸ’–Then my sister busted in and captured it all with her camera. It was so beyond special. Of all the places in the world I've gotten to see, nowhere could mean more than this happening in tiny Golden, Texas in the house that completely made me who I am."

Cam brings an aspiring artist along for the ride

Cam made Cecilia's night, a fan and aspiring artist, when the "Burning House" singer brought her on stage.

At the show in Columbus, Ohio, Cam danced in the background, let the young girl get a taste of the limelight and sing for a moment.

"Tonight I met a young, brave, 'aspiring artist' so I decided to show her that feeling ... of singing onstage, with everyone in the moment right there with you," Cam wrote on Instagram. "Because that connection is what gets you through the doubt. When there's no money and no reason to think your crazy dreams will ever work. Except there is a reason- it's you. Miranda Lambert refuses interviews

Miranda Lambert is doing quite the opposite of ex-hubby Blake Shelton when it comes to speaking out about her personal life.

The "Vice" singer is choosing to let minds wander and allow her double-album to speak for her. She has steered clear of interviews and sticking strictly to television performances to promote her sixth studio album.

The Weight of These Wings, which includes two disks The Nerve and The Heart, comes after her highly publicized divorce from Shelton amid several cheating rumors last year.

Although album shows a vulnerable, heartbroken side of Miranda, it has been well-received by fans and fellow artists.

As of Nov. 28, the album is the highest charting country album from a female artist in more than a year, debuting at No. 3 on Billboard 200.

Unfortunately, Eric Church was slammed online after a "poor" halftime performance during the Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins game on Thanksgiving.

Regardless of negative feedback from some Cowboys fans, the "Kill A Word" singer was performing for a good cause. All funds raised during the show will go towards the Red Kettle Campaign, a Salvation Army fundraiser which provides clothes, gifts and more to families in need.

“We were initially targeting a release for this year but an amazing opportunity has come along that’s changed the way I’m thinking about my debut album launch,” she told CMT. “The big news will be coming soon.”

In the meantime, the 22-year-old singer is still giving fans new music. "Love Triangle", "Diamonds", "Insecure" and album titled-track "WildHorse" are already released singles off the upcoming album.

"The Voice" alum is currently on tour, which will continue into 2017, with former coach Blake Shelton.
