WATCH: Shaq is singing Carrie Underwood with a blonde wig... what?

If you follow Shaq on Instagram, you were probably very startled and confused by this video he posted yesterday. Shaq in a wig kind of seems like a scary sight.

A post shared by DR. SHAQUILLE O'NEAL Ed.D. (@shaq) on

Jul 16, 2017 at 8:49pm PDT

As you can see, the former NBA star is lip-syncing Carrie Underwood's "Blown Away" while wearing a short blonde wig. This is seriously so strange. For starters, does he listen to country music? Does he like this song? Also, that wig looks nothing like Carrie Underwood's hair.

I don't know the answers to those questions but I do know there is a purpose behind this odd post. According to Taste of Country, the video is the result of a bet, sort of. Lavar Ball, the father of recent NBA draftee, claims he and his other son would beat Shaq and his son in a two-on-two game. Shaq's weird post was really a response to Lavar Ball. In the caption of the post, Shaq wrote "if lavar ball beats me I'll superglue this wig to my head forever. It's only one BIG BALLER BRAND and that's me THE SHAQ BRAND. Wake up bro. I made more free throws in a game then the Points you averaged mr 2.2 a game. Respect this first balloter #relax #justwatchyoursonplay#shhhhhh #youtoloud#youcanneverbeattheonealboyz"

If I'm being honest though, I still don't quite understand the connection with Carrie Underwood. Regardless, Shaq is seemingly very confident that he will beat the Ball boys.

The couple, who had been trying for a baby since they married in 2015, were told by two fertility specialists that it would be "close to a miracle" to get pregnant naturally, according to People.

Dierks Bentley's wife is a marathon runner and charity donator!

Cassidy Blackton, Dierks Bentley's wife, is not only one hell of a runner but she's also quite philanthropic.

The country star's wife raised over $23,000 for a Nashville charity with her run in the Boston Marathon last week.

The money she raised went straight to Nashville’s Safe Haven Family Shelter, a charity that aims to end family homelessness through education and advocacy, according to CMT.

Her journey was document on social media thanks to Dierks, who created an Instagram page for the cause, @cassrunsboston17. He didn't stop there though, he shared his support for his wife on his own personal account too.

Here we go @cassrunsboston17! Your @bostonmarathon pit crew is ready to cheer you on! number one fans. CRUSH IT #beboston

A post shared by Dierks Bentley (@dierksbentley) on

Cassidy, who finished the race in 3 hours and 26 minutes, reflected on the experience though the IG.

I'm reaching the maximum number of posts that one can reasonably dedicate to one race so ill wrap up with hugs. Hugs to Boston. I can't believe how that city turns out for the runners. Hugs to the little kids lined on the side of the street with their hands out to high five the runners. Hugs to the volunteers and everyone there keeping people safe. Hugs to the girls who cheered for me at mile 6 and the person who I couldn't see who screamed my name and "Safe Haven" at mile 10. I hope you heard me scream back. To everyone who shared encouraging words and those who donated to Safe Haven...gigantic bear hug. The last six miles of yesterday's race were mind bending. I lost my center and everything hurt and it felt like it would never, ever end. And yet here I am already feeling nostalgic for it. That's the weird magic of a marathon...or I guess of anything that is hard but worth it.

Alabama's Jeff Cook battles Parkinson's, takes time off from touring

A founding member of Alabama, Jeff Cook, is battling Parkinson's disease and will be taking a break from touring with the band.

Cook, Randy Owen and Teddy Gentry made the announcement last week when they told The Tennessean.

“Let me say, I’m not calling it quits, but sometimes our bodies dictate what we have to do, and mine is telling me it’s time to take a break and heal," Cook told The Tennessean. “If I’m healed overnight, I’ll be at the next show. I do believe in prayer, and I’m not giving up.”

“This disease robs you of your coordination, your balance, and causes tremors,” Cook said in the prepared statement last week. “For me, this has made it extremely frustrating to try and play guitar, fiddle or sing. I’ve tried not to burden anyone with the details of my condition because I do not want the music to stop or the party to end, and that won’t change no matter what.

Cook was diagnosed four years ago but he and the band kept it quiet even though some audience members began to speculate his movements onstage were due to substance abuse, according to CMT.

"That's the part that hurts so bad, for people to think he's intoxicated or something," Owen told The Tennessean.

While Cook is giving his body a break, other musicians will cover for him during performances.

“We could hire 10 people, but we can’t replace Jeff Cook in the group Alabama,” Gentry said.

Sam Hunt wifed up fiancee Hannah Lee Fowler last weekend

Sam Hunt and Hannah Lee Fowler started their happily ever after this weekend!

The couple wed in Georgia over the weekend, according to TMZ.

TMZ even captured photos of the blushing bride as she entered the wedding venue in a white dress with a fishtail braid.

News of their engagement broke at the start of this year shortly after the two rekindled things in the spring of last year.

Fowler, a nurse, is the inspiration for much of Sam's first studio album Montevallo, and he dedicates his single "Drinkin' Too Much" from his forthcoming sophomore album as an apology anthem to her.

While she stays off social media, Hunt let everyone get a good look at her during the ACM's a couple weeks back. During his "Body Like a Back Road" performance, Hunt ditched the stage and made his way into the audience next to Hannah where he sang to her while she nervously laughed and blushed.

We're happy they worked things out, and congrats are definitely in order for the beautiful couple!

Reba's new ABC soap opera: details

Months back, Reba hinted at her new TV show, and this week the singer-actress shared updates on the upcoming Southern Gothic soap opera.

The pilot has officially been shot, and the soap will be titled Red Blooded.

“[ABC] had two notes for us: ‘Expand upon this and expand upon that.’ It wasn’t ‘Take that out’ or ‘Fix [this].’ We’re thrilled to pieces.... Hopefully... ABC will say it’s a go, and we’ll start filming in middle of July,” Reba told CMT.

This will be Reba's first dramatic role as she plays "Ruby Adair", a small town sheriff.

Reba most recently starred in sitcoms Malibu Country, which was cancelled in 2013, and Reba, which ran from 2001 to 2007.

Country legend Alan Jackson will be a Country Music Hall of Fame member

Alan Jackson will soon be Here in the Country Music Hall of Fame.

“People are always asking me, you’ve done everything. What's your next goal,” Alan said at the induction ceremony. “What goals do you have left? I never say the Country Music Hall of Fame ‘cause I thought that was kind of pretentious to think that I deserve to be in there. I never say that. Now I can say that. This about the last dream on the list right here.”

The legendary country singer will be inducted later this year, according to CMT, joining Garth Brooks, Vince Gill, Charlie Daniels among many other singers and songwriters.

Dustin Lynch is dating an Osbourne...?

Is "Small Town Boy" Dustin Lynch playing a joke on his fans or is he 'for real' dating Kelly Osborne?

The country crooner posted a picture with the daughter of Ozzy and Sharon, writing  "Shhhhh... 🤐#oneyear"

A post shared by Dustin Lynch (@dustinlynchmusic) on

Osbourne, also took to IG to celebrate this "one year" occasion, writing "with my boo @dustinlynchmusic #celebrating our first anniversary! #TheOddCouple ðŸ'œðŸ¾ðŸ'‹"

This one year celebratory event was their friendaversary rather than the anniversary of dating, according to Lynch.

Once fans started to get riled up at the idea that he may not be a single man, he posted a screenshot of the term defined by Urban Dictionary.

The "friends" met a year ago at Stagecoach Country Music Festival, according to Entertainment Tonight, and are heavily playing up their faux relationship.

"She has one of the best personalities and sense of humors of all time, and makes me laugh like crazy," he told ET. "I think I make her laugh because I'm so backwards of what she's used to out here. We love laughing together, having a good time picking on each other, giving each other a hard time."

The 31-year-old country singer insists he is still single and there is indeed no relationship between the two.

Dustin Lynch is currently on tour with Florida Georgia Line.

Cam teaches a TedxTalk

Cam took a quick break from writing and singing to give a TedxTalk on something she knows well: music.

The "Burning House" singer, who earned a psychology degree in college, discussed the impact of music to a group of people at the University of Nevada.

"Only lasted about 11 minutes... but I was more terrified than I've ever been in my life," Cam wrote on her Facebook page. "To share knowledge publicly - means I had to first believe that I have knowledge worth sharing (and questioning myself is pretty much my superpower)."

Although Cam is a successful singer-songwriter, she expressed in that same social media post that she had difficulty writing a speech.

"It's not new information, but it's just often forgotten that music is an essential part of our humanity. I couldn't let people miss out on that understanding," she wrote.

Cam is currently on tour in the United Kingdom and Ireland. She's also an opener for George Strait's Las Vegas residency.
