Bloggin' Bridge's Nashville News

While the three hour long Billboard Music Awards last night consisted mostly of recognizing various genres other than country, there were a few noteworthy country-related moments.

Blake Shelton, Florida Georgia Line and Jason Aldean were among several country stars who either performed, received a nomination or award during the live show.

Sam Hunt sang his latest No. 1 hit "Body Like A Backroad" while FGL and R&B singer John Legend shared the stage during their performance. The artists combined their hits "H.O.L.Y." and "Surefire," respectively.

Prior to the show, Sam Hunt and his wife Hannah enjoyed their first red carpet together as a married couple.

As for performances, Miley Cyrus ditched the wrecking ball this year. She refrained from twerking and instead, she sang a stripped-down performance of "Malibu," her brand-new (somewhat country sounding single) and got teary eyed as the crowd clapped.
