On September 16th, CMT announced the Artists of the Year! These five artists have collectively dominated the country music industry in the last year leading all CMT platforms, have chart topping albums and singles, and also found creative ways to connect with fans as well as meet the all of the challenges that were posed by the pandemic. These five artists are Chris Stapleton, Kelsea Ballerini, Kane Brown, Gabby Barrett, and Luke Combs!
This 90 minute special will celebrate these five artists will new performances, collaborations, and other great moments. In the coming weeks, the musical pairings, other honorees, performers, and everything else will be announced. The ceremony returns to the original format after an adaptation from last year to honor front line workers and inspirational Americans that worked throughout the pandemic.
When Leslie Fram, CMT’s Senior Vice President of Music Strategy and Talent, was asked what makes “Artists of the Year” different from other events she said that the night is “a pivotal time in [the artists’] careers, [and] promises to be a night of incredible performances and reflection.”
Margaret Comeaux, CMT’s Vice President of Production says that she is looking forward to returning with a live show to celebrate the major accomplishments these five artists have had in the last year and that everyone at CMT is honored to recognize them as artists who have inspired and entertained millions through their music in the past year.
The show will air live from Music City at the Nashville’s Schermerhorn Symphony Center at 9p/8c on October 13th!
