We have to give a huge congrats to our own University of Central Florida Football team. They are proving that their program is a dominant one, where student athletes have a good chance of getting drafted to an NFL team. This past weekend, the NFL held it’s draft in Cleveland. The UCF Knights had a school record amount of drafts headed to the NFL, with 5 players. The previous record of players drafted was 4 (2003 – Asante Samuel: 4th Round, 120th – New England/Doug Gabriel: 5th Round, 167th – Oakland/Mike Mabry: 7th Round, 250th – Baltimore/Elton Patterson: 7th Round, 259th – Cincinnati, and 2018 – Mike Hughes: 1st Round, 30th – Minnesota/Tre’Quan Smith: 3rd Round, 91st – New Orleans/Jordan Akins: 3rd Round, 98th – Houston/Shaquem Griffin: 5th Round, 141st – Seattle).
This years UCF draft class went as follows:
I believe more records will be set with the UCF football program in the near future.
